Literary Terms Related to Drama











Drama: Literature written to be performed.



Comedy: a literary genre intended primarily to amuse the audience.



Tragedy: a literary genre depicting serious actions that usually have a disastrous outcome for the protagonist.







Characterization:the means by which writers present and reveal character.


Character:An imaginary person that inhabits a literary work.


Protagonist: the main character of a literary work.

Antagonist: character or force against which another character struggles.
